Compounded Semaglutide
Semaglutide is the same ingredient as Wegovy® and Ozempic®
What are Semaglutides?
While medications such as Wegovy® and Ozempic® are in short supply, state-licensed pharmacies can compound medications using the same active ingredients. This process alleviates pressures on branded medication, freeing up supply for people with conditions such as diabetes. Our compounded semaglutide contains a semaglutide base, which is the same active ingredient as Wegovy® and Ozempic®. We never use semaglutide salts, as they have not been shown to be effective.
Semaglutide reduces blood sugar levels, lowers blood pressure, and decreases cholesterol and triglyceride levels.
What are potential side-effects?
Common side effects of compounded semaglutide are typically mild to moderate in severity and often improve in the first few weeks as your body adjusts to the medication. Common side effects can include: Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, headaches, fatigue and dizziness.
When is Semaglutides prescribed?
Your medical provider will evaluate your eligibility based on your medical questionnaire and discuss your compounded GLP-1 medication options. Compounded tirzepatide may be prescribed based on your personal weight loss needs. Individuals may be prescribed compounded semaglutide for various reasons, such as requiring a unique formulation, facing insurance denial for brand name coverage, seeking cost savings, or experiencing a local drug shortage.
